- a riot of black and grays in other words... except that link and hover colors are customizable from the admin.

Some like WordPress 2.7, with its radically-altered admin section, threaded-comments etc. a lot - others dislike it a lot, and wonder whether it's a sign of bloat..?
Certainly, it can be significantly harder to hack around without upsetting the overall config in various arcane ways. To some extent, the direction reminds one of Windows Vista Home - fine (I guess) if you're not a power user..
